Wanted – Volunteers for Tolmie Sports Day

The Tolmie Sports Committee is urgently seeking more volunteers for this years Tolmie Sports Day on February 12th.   Volunteering on the day generally only requires a commitment of a couple of hours and is great way to get involved in the Tolmie community and for those new to the area, meet other locals.

Positions are available in a multitude of areas and are generally not to onerous to manage.  Roles include assisting with the guessing competition, raffle prize sales, food cooking/handling, gate entry, QR code/certificate checking (this event is restricted to vaccinated persons), general tasks/go-for-this/that or PA announcer.

The Sports Association are also looking for coordinators to run the novelty events/foot races and the BBQ.  The novelty events includes the egg/spoon race and 3 legged-race, and the foot races include the children’s and adults races.  These events are always popular with attendees.  Coordination of the BBQ will just be responsible for managing the volunteer team on the day.  Food ordering and supplies will be arranged prior by the Sports Committee.

This year will be the 135th running of this historic event.  To ensure its continuation and viability, please consider volunteering some time for this wonderful day.  Further enquiries can be made to President, Mike Dance on 0438 764 629 or Mary Reilly on maryreilly1959@gmail.com .
