130th Sports Commemorative Wines Still Available!

At the fantastic Tolmie Sports last month, numerous people took the opportunity to have a taste of the excellent 130th Sports Commemorative Wines on offer.  Many bottles (or even cases) changed hands during the day or shortly after.  If you missed out, don’t worry.  There are still a good number of bottles still available.

130th Sports Commemorative WinesBoth the 2014 Sauvignon Blanc and the 2013 Shiraz are available at the same fantastic price of $15 a bottle, $85 for 6 bottles or $165 for a dozen (mixed or straight).  All profit go to the Tolmie Sports Association.

Tolmie Sports – New Wine Stock arrived

tolmiebannerMainLgGreat news – the Tolmie Sports wine coordinators have been able to secure a limited amount of high quality wines to commemorate the 130th Sports.  A fantastic, beautifully balanced 2013 Shiraz as well as an extraordinary 2014 Sauvignon Blanc reflecting the excellent growing conditions of the 2013/14 year are available.  Both wines are labelled with a unique, dedicated 130th Tolmie Sports label.

The wines will be for sale at the Tolmie Sports at the very reasonable price of $15 a bottle.  A case of 12 bottles will be on offer for $165, while we can separate half dozen lots for $85.  Both case and half case can be mixed.

To secure your wine you can pre-book your order by calling Kees or Martina on 5776 9554 or email to sonneveld@easyliving.com .   Orders need to be picked up and paid on the Sports Day.  Other arrangements for payment and pick-up can be made for after the Sports Day.  Definitely no sales and/or pick-up prior to the Sports event.  Look for the wine stall at the Sports and pick up a bottle (or more) of this wonderful drop.

Tolmie Orphans Xmas Celebration

Are you going to be “home alone” on Xmas day? If so, why not join the Tolmie Orphans Xmas at the Community Kitchen? It is a relaxed day, where everyone contributes something towards lunch and shares the cost of the meat & pudding (usually around $15). BYO drinks. This wonderful day is intended for singles and couples or even small families – but not if you have a hoard who can otherwise have a very merry xmas at home together doing your own thing! If you would like to participate this Christmas, please phone either Linda or Michael on 5776 2113 by 15th December .

Community Planning Meeting & BBQ for Tolmie

Come along and enjoy a bite to eat & drink with the upcoming Tolmie Community Planning Meeting and BBQ at the Tolmie Mechanics Institute on Sunday 18th October, starting at 12noon.  This will be a great opportunity to meet with friends and neighbours whilst also meeting new members to the community.  The aim of this day is to review the Tolmie Community Vision and Plan by:

  • Celebrating what has already been achieved.
  • Reflecting on what worked well in projects successfully completed
  • Review projects that haven’t been completed and identify any new ones.
  • Identify the characteristics of resilience in your community and what your community values most to help plan for risks associated with the local environment.

130th Sports Day & High Country Festival Float – Your input is required

30/08/15 Next year (2016) sees the running of the 130th Tolmie Sports. In preparation for this event, the Sports Association will be holding an “Ideas Meeting” on Sunday 13th September at 11.00am at the Community Kitchen. The intention of the day is to gather ideas and suggestions relating to the running of the 130th Sports, plus also the possibility of a promotional float in the upcoming High Country Festival in Mansfield. Everyone is encouraged to attend whether permanent resident or weekender. A BBQ lunch will follow the meeting. Further information and RSVP for catering purposes to Meg 5776 2178.
