The Tradition Continues .......

What can you expect from a day at the 137th Tolmie Sports? Aside from the novelty events and foot races for adults and children, there will be plenty of other country fun - with raffles, guessing competitions and entertainment for all, including, “Bash the Rat”, the Cross Cut Saw event, Egg Toss, Gumboot Toss etc., the Mansfield SES & Tolmie CFA will be there with plenty of knowledge and advice to pass on. The CFA will demonstrate bushfire behaviour using the ‘burn table’. Plenty for the kids to do with fun face painting designs and a kids art & craft stall, plus more.

The Northeast’s finest axemen will be there competing throughout the day in tests of speed, strength, endurance and accuracy. we are pleased to announce that the Three Man Challenge will be back!  The Equestrian programme is jam-packed with novelty events promising loads of for riders and horses.

The day will conclude with one of our most anticipated and loved events - the Dog Jump. How high can your dog jump?

There will be a Bar, along with lots of stalls & food outlets selling yummy wholesome country tucker to suit all tastes, or you can bring along a picnic and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere and spirit of a good old fashioned country sports day. You will be able to enjoy great tea/coffee/cappuccino information the Camp Kitchen and where you can also enjoy sandwiches, cakes, biscuits and a Devonshire Tea with the best scones in the North-East!

All profits are returned to the community and to the ongoing yearly production of the Tolmie Sports.

TRIGGER POINT FOR CANCELLATION OF TOLMIE SPORTS

After consultation with CFA District 23 Operations Officer for the Benalla & Mansfield catchment, the Tolmie Sports Association has decided that the trigger point for cancellation of Tolmie Sports will be - where the Fire Danger Rating is forecast to be "EXTREME" or above, and the Forest Fire Danger Index is forecast to be rated above 70. The TSA Committee would then be empowered to contact all relevant personnel to enact an immediate cancellation of the Sports.
